Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cognitive Development & Early Literacy:
- Implement strategies to foster early literacy, language, and cognitive skills.
- Use the Infant/Toddler Frog Street Curriculum to guide lesson plans and objectives.
- Set up learning centers and activities that promote cognitive growth.
- Implement ongoing assessments to tailor learning experiences to each child's needs.

Social and Emotional Development:
- Promote social skills, emotional regulation, and cooperative behavior through positive reinforcement.
- Address unacceptable behaviors with calm, respectful redirection.
- Create a cooperative, non-competitive classroom environment where all children can feel secure and valued.
- Foster feelings of trust and security, especially for infants and toddlers.

Physical Development (Fine & Gross Motor):
- Provide activities that develop fine and gross motor skills through play and structured activities.
- Integrate health and nutrition education, ensuring compliance with guidelines.

Self-Care and Adaptive Skills:
- Encourage independence and self-care skills through age-appropriate activities.
- Model self-care routines, such as eating, cleaning up, and washing hands.

Fine Arts and Creativity:
- Offer opportunities for children to explore their creativity and engage in fine arts activities.
- Incorporate music, arts, and movement into daily routines to enhance developmental growth.

Behavior Management: Reinforce positive behaviors and use non-physical, non-humiliating methods to guide children’s actions.
- Use calm, non-threatening language to redirect and reinforce behavior expectations.
- Brief supervised separation for behavior correction when needed, adhering to age-appropriate guidelines.
- Foster self-control through positive reinforcement and teach the child acceptable behavior.

Interaction: Engage with children during all activities (indoor/outdoor) and provide meaningful learning experiences.
- Model correct speech patterns and vocabulary.
- Ensure that children feel respected, heard, and safe.

Health & Safety: Maintain hygiene and ensure that proper health protocols, such as those from the CACFP, are followed.
- Cooperate with health professionals and staff to monitor developmental progress and health needs.
- Report any concerns regarding child welfare (abuse/neglect) as per protocol.

Parent Communication: Keep parents informed about their child’s progress through conferences, home visits, and a bulletin board with relevant information.
- Promote active involvement of parents and encourage them to share their skills with the program.
- Respectfully involve fathers in all activities and interactions.

Staff Collaboration: Work closely with co-teachers to share information and ensure consistency in child care and development.
- Maintain proper staff/child ratios and ensure safety and communication between staff members.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, meals, developmental screenings, and other required documentation.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and child care licensing standards.
- Cooperate with the Early Head Start/Early Head Start Director, ensuring timely updates and compliance with policies.
- Keep up with training and certifications, including maintaining CDA certification.
- Participate in staff development sessions and stay updated on best practices for child development and safety issues.
