Position Purpose: 
This position reports to the Early Childhood Intervention Director and Finance Specialist and is responsible for providing efficient general administrative support to the Early Childhood Intervention department and performs a variety of routine to moderately difficult clerical/secretarial, customer service, accounting, and database support functions, utilizing a variety of office software products and programs.

Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Perform general duties as an administrative assistant to the Early Childhood Intervention Program.
Serve as ECI receptionist recording all messages and distributing to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, using phone protocol established by site coordinator.
Accept referrals and complete ProMedDa and TKids data entry.
Initiate physician's orders for therapy and conduct follow up contact.
Fax update letters to physicians in a timely manner.
Verify Medicaid monthly to ensure it is active.
Verify private insurance on new referrals and enter in ProMedDa and TKids.
Assist in making telephone contacts as requested by ECI direct service staff.
Provide clerical support to direct service staff, create intake packets and maintain supply of brochures as needed.
Maintain record of all medical records requested by Early Childhood Intervention and all medical records received.
Upload documents to ProMedDa as needed.
Exhibit initiative by expressing opinions and suggesting changes.
Utilize good judgment in making decisions appropriate for job responsibilities.
Maintain an organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned by the ECI Lead, Early Childhood Intervention Director and/or Executive Director.

Special Knowledge/Skills
Computer skills to include network systems, desktop publishing, word processing software 
Ability to type accurately at a speed necessary to meet the requirements of the position
Possess filing system skills
Ability to explain and reach sound decisions in accordance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures
Multi-line telephone capabilities/switchboard
Ability to compose routine correspondence from brief instructions
Use tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive situations and concerned people and customers
Possess efficiency in preparing clear, accurate and concise records and reports
