As a Finance Support II this position will assist in cultivating a professional business culture by communicating effectively and providing team members the support and resources necessary for the successful attainment of the districts' values, vision, mission, strategies, and goals.
This position reports to the Finance Services Director and Finance Services Lead and is responsible for performing data entry including accounting, personnel and payroll data processing.
Essential Functions:
Three (3) years data entry experience (preferred)
Three (3) years general bookkeeping/accounting experience (preferred)

This position reports to the Finance Services Director and Finance Services Lead and is responsible for performing data entry including accounting, personnel and payroll data processing.
Essential Functions:
- Partnership, Support and Training: Deliver technical assistance and support on a day to day basis for all team members; including but not limited to:
- Assist the department to achieve its mission by completing assignments specific to the department’s needs. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to support the goals of the Education Service Center Region 15.
- Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor.
- Culture & Growth: Contribute to maintaining and improving the culture of the ESC through customer service, respect for confidentiality, displaying self-initiative, and modeling a growth mindset through self-reflection and feedback reception.
- Provide accounting, bookkeeping and payroll assistance.
- Key alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source document and verify results.
- Identify deficiencies in source documents and return to originator for correction.
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and do word processing.
- Perform assignments efficiently and without continuous supervision.
- Ability to handle and see to completion multiple projects simultaneously and on deadline.
- Possess strong desire to learn department duties including bank reconciliations, budget, general ledger review, payroll, state and federal reporting, and audit assistance.
- Serve as backup payroll support and finance support.
- Participate in TASBO certification courses and workshops in order to obtain certification as CTSBS – Certified Texas School Business Specialist (Level I).
- Demonstrate excellence in self-motivation and strong organizational skills, including work area.
- Exhibit flexibility by adjusting to change.
- Demonstrate cooperation, consideration and professional courtesy with staff members.
- Support internal ESC Region15 functions and core values.

- Perform other duties delegated by the Finance Services Lead and Finance Services Director.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Knowledge of computerized accounting software
- Proficient in Windows applications, MS Office Suite, internet and email
- Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry
- Ability to work with numbers with accuracy and a rapid manner in order to meet established deadlines
- Possess integrity, judgement, responsiveness, and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate excellence in self-motivation and willingness to learn department functions
- Ability to maintain confidential records and files
