Education Specialist (Meaningful Access)

Pay Grade: ESC Region 15 Salary Schedule
Anticipated Start Date: 07.01.2026
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Create, present and provide collaboration and professional development to general and special education teachers and instructional leaders on federal and state mandates, high quality instructional materials and classroom management.
Ability to collaborate with campus administrators in the alignment of campus instructional practices to increase student achievement and campus outcomes and goals.
Demonstrate a growth mindset and ability to build relationships with teachers and administrators.
Support meaningful access to education for students served in Special Education.
Promote meaningful access and understanding integration of and implementation of instructional practices and specially designed instruction.
Collaborate with general and special education teachers on planning and preparing standards-aligned lessons through observation and feedback, modeling, co-teaching, coaching and professional learning.
Contribute ideas, work on committees, and collaborate with peers and District Special Education department.
Provide technical assistance and consultation with lesson internalization, with multiple core-area teachers leading and developing Professional Learning Committees (PLCs).
Aggregate and analyze student level data and share insights with teachers and administrators.
Engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
Travel to school districts, professional meetings, trainings and conferences as required.
Support total ESC Region 15 operation through cooperation with other center staff and components.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Program Director and Executive Director.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
In-depth knowledge of instructional practices that lead to improved teaching and learning, including data-driven practices, observation and feedback coaching, student culture routines, designing and delivering professional development and change management
Knowledge of instructional strategies, specially designed instruction, classroom development and management
Knowledge of positive behavioral supports, strategies and interventions preferred

Bachelor's Degree
Master's Degree
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
