School Leadership Specialist (Accountability)
Location: ESC Region 15, San Angelo, TX

Position Purpose: This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Teaching and Learning. The School Leadership Specialist is responsible for leading and guiding the Local Education Agencies (LEAs) of Region 15 in the implementation of research-based best practices aimed at accelerating student growth and achievement. The role includes collaborating with LEA instructional teams to build a positive and supportive school climate that fosters student success. Additionally, the specialist will work to cultivate a high-performance culture within the region, emphasizing excellence, quality, productivity, and the highest standards in educational practice.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with guiding the campus implementation of the state accountability framework established by the Texas Education Agency, ensuring alignment with district and regional expectations.
- Monitor campus performance indicators including STAAR outcomes, CCMR indicators, graduation rates, and domain ratings.
- Collaborate with specialists from Education Service Center Region 15 to interpret accountability metrics and implement improvement strategies.
- Ensure timely submission and accuracy of all accountability-related reports and data.
- Stay informed of state and federal accountability information, providing necessary training and technical assistance.
- Facilitate regular data analysis cycles with campus leadership teams to review student performance trends and identify instructional priorities.
- Use disaggregated data to guide targeted interventions for student groups and improve overall campus performance.
- Develop and monitor campus improvement plans aligned with accountability indicators and district goals.
- Provide training and ongoing support to districts in the continuous improvement process, including data analysis, needs assessment, and improvement planning, ensuring proper implementation and monitoring of effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain communication channels with LEAs to:
- Ensure timely receipt of updates related to state and federal initiatives,
- Share innovative, research-based practices, and
- Provide technical assistance in all areas related to school leadership and principalship.
- Serve on and/or lead Region 15 teams dedicated to collaborative efforts with other Education Service Centers (ESCs) and partner agencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Administrative Services and Federal Programs and/or the Executive Director.
